The Ellipse sits on the quiet northern edge of Lake Lemon, where the water holds still long enough to see the sky doubled. We opened this place for people who need a room with a view that doesn't ask for anything in return.

No resort. No crowds. Just clean rooms, a porch you can sit on in the evening, and the kind of silence that makes you remember what your own thoughts sound like. It's the kind of place people come back to when they need to remember how to be still.

The Lake

Lake Lemon

Lake Lemon is a 1,000-acre reservoir in south-central Indiana — deep, clear, and quiet enough that you can hear loons calling at dusk. The north shore where we sit is the still part.

You can bring a boat, walk the shoreline, sit on the dock with a book, or simply watch the water do what it does best: stay put. Fishing is good here for bass and panfish. Swimming is fine in the warmer months. Most people just come for the quiet.
